It is hard to imagine
life without the internet. It is amazing the effect that the internet has
had on our lives. There are still many people who don’t even own a PC but
that number is dwindling each year. It brings to mind all of the
technological benefits of the internet age. Our life has certainly changed
within the past thirty years due to the internet and it’s a fine time to
reflect on the impact it has had over its lifespan so far.

IMPORTANT OF NETWORK
1. Modes of Communication
Today, email is
the preferred method of communication. It is an indirect method that most
people prefer. In the internet age we also have VoIP (Voice
over Internet Protocol popularized primarily with the emergence of Skype and Google Voice),instant
messaging and texting. Texting has usurped email as the main
type of communication with young people. Instant messaging is still being
used in the business world, while Skype and Google Voice are used for personal
and business communication.
2.
Online Banking
The reasons for doing so are numerous, such as:
The reasons for doing so are numerous, such as:
- You don’t have to be constantly writing out checks to pay your bills, licking envelopes, and buying postage.
- You can easily pay your regular bills like mortgage and car loan with a couple of clicks and the payments will be made electronically on the proper day to avoid late charges.
- You can also receive your bills electronically and an email will notify you when the bill arrives. Then, after logging into your bank website, you can schedule your bills to arrive on a given date.
Another
great thing about online banking is that you can set up anyone as a recipient
of funds. So, if you want to send a check to a relative you can do so
online either by having a paper check mailed to them or directly depositing the
money into their account.
3.
Searching
There
were days when you wanted to learn more about a particular subject you would
open a book, an encyclopedia or a dictionary. When the end of each year
came, we would receive the edition that chronicled that particular year.
To this day we use a dictionary and thesaurus on a daily basis but now they
live online and not on my bookshelf. Today, we have lightning fast search
engines that can give us thousands of links based on specific keywords.
4. Telecommuting
The internet age has completely redefined how we work. The ability to sit in your home office while connecting to all of the same resources as if you were in your work office is a reality in today’s workplace. This has allowed people like me to avoid a two and a half hour commute on the days that I am allowed to telecommute. The time savings, gas savings and the wear and tear on my car (and on me) is a huge gain.
5 BENEFITS OF NETWORKING ON OUR BLOG :
1. Shared Knowledge
Being a part of a network and
sharing ideas leads to shared knowledge. There is usually more than one way of
accomplishing a goal and receiving feedback and discussing other points of view
really expands your knowledge base and allows you to see things from a broader
perspective.
As an individual it is unlikely
that you will happen, but collectively the power can be staggering.
Learning from others who have
traveled the trail you are now navigating is always a huge plus for your
advancement.
2. Opportunities
Networking always results in the creation of opportunities,
the thing is, you have no idea when or where they may materialize, which is why
it’s important to be an action taker, ready to seize on a beneficial
opportunity when it does come along. Joint ventures, partnerships and even needs for services
you provide are all possible results of networking.
3. Connections
People within a network of friends will have connections
with many other people they have encountered in their own lives. When someone
they know has a need and can benefit from products and services offered
by someone within the network, that person will likely get the call.
The opposite is also true. You need a service provider and
have no one that you know and trust, receiving a recommendation from within
your network can be both timely and comforting.
4. Promotion
From blog post to product
launches, you have people who will assist you in the promotion of goods and
services. This saves you time and removes the risk of over promoting your own
content and products. There is also the benefit of additional traffic to
your site and an increase in subscribers and sales.
5. The Social
Social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook and
of course, the BlogEngage forum are teeming with people and
opportunities to connect with others who are traveling a similar path.
Get out there and meet some folks, visit their blogs and
interact with them, becoming a part of a few communities. This will enhance
your flow of traffic and expand your overall online presence.
Disadvantages of the
Internet
- The Internet is a widespread information medium of communication. Its appearance, like a double-edged sword, not only brings convenience to mankind, but also may causes a great deal of potential problems too.
- According to many studies of Internet users especially youth have concluded that spending too much time online can adversely affect their psychological well-being.
- New technology bring the new lifestyle to people , at the same time how to take most use of the Internet becomes an urgent issue.Which, if misused, might undermine the quality of our life and even threaten the mental health of teenage students.
Conclusion
Networking has many
benefits, not the least of which are the great people you will come to build
relationships with. It brings a strong purpose to your business building and
personal development efforts, really making for a pleasant experience.
